Jillian Zappia is a sixth-grade language arts teacher for Wake County Public Schools in North Carolina. She loves to travel, read young adult literature and the classics, to write bad poetry and imaginative short stories, to teach and to learn.
Ms. Zappia earned her undergraduate degree at Hope College in the areas of English and elementary education and is currently pursuing her Masters in Education from North Carolina State University through the New Literacy and Global Learning program with a concentration in middle school language arts. Upon graduation, her teaching certification will include elementary, middle grades language arts, and high school English. Next year, Jillian will put her global learning focus to use as she begins her career as an international teacher in Kuwait.
